Details regarding services or memorials will be shared with the membership here.
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we inform the membership of the sudden and unexpected passing of our Brother, James Kostka, known affectionately to all as “Ducky.”
Ducky was a dedicated member of Gas Workers Local 18007, working out of the South Shop. To those who worked alongside him, he was more than just a colleague—he was a fixture of the shop and a true union brother.
A Loss to Our Brotherhood
The passing of a member is always difficult, but the unexpected nature of Ducky’s departure leaves a particularly deep void in our ranks. Whether through his hard work, his personality, or the nickname that stayed with him throughout his career, he left a mark on everyone he encountered.
- To his South Shop family: We know the shop will feel a bit emptier without his presence.
- To the general membership: We lose a piece of our collective strength when we lose a brother like James.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and all those who are feeling this loss today. In times of grief, we lean on the solidarity that defines this local. Please look out for one another as we navigate this difficult time together.
“Brotherhood is the bridge that carries us through the darkest waters.”
Details regarding services or memorials will be shared with the membership as soon as they become available.
Fraternally,
The Executive Board Gas Workers Local 18007
