BUSINESS MANAGER UPDATE 4-27-2020

Brothers and Sisters,

The Local understands the frustration by the membership in receiving proper communications from the company regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. All our Officers and Stewards have been working tirelessly in trying to update our members on the continuous information. Along with communication deficiencies by the company, there endless issues with providing our members with proper PPE during this pandemic. Recently under the direction of the manager in safety services the company has been citing language from OSHA guidelines for non-company issued PPE (N95 mask). The Local would like to commend the Peoples Gas safety department for their genuine concern in our members having the proper company issued PPE.

Brothers and Sisters it is the companies responsibility to provide all members with the proper equipment to do our job safely, if you are on any job and you do not have appropriate company issued Personal Protective Equipment for your safety, the safety of your crew, or the safety of our customers please follow these steps;

* Contact your leader if your leader is unable to provide you the proper company issued PPE Contact the Peoples Gas safety rep for your shop, the company has the following consultants on staff who all report directly to the manager in safety services:

North shop- Senior Safety Consultant

South shop- Safety Consultant

Central shop- Associate Safety Consultant

Division St. shop- Senior Safety Consultant

If any members still do not have proper company issued PPE follow the example set above by manager in safety services and follow OSHA guidelines.
