Local 18007 & Midwest Veterans Closet

Our Veterans Day drive was a success. Our members were able to donate a large amount of goods to the Midwest Veterans Closet. Also, in partnership with the company, Peoples Gas donated $10,000 to the organization. I want to thank those members that helped deliver the donations. At Central Shop we had Travis Jasper-US ARMY and Prentice Stansberry-US Army. At North Shop we had Christian Garcia-US ARMY NATIONAL GUARD and Thomas Berry-USMC. At South Shop we had Ben Villegas-US NAVY and Derrick Milner-USMC. The Midwest Veterans Closet serves the Chicagoland area. They are near the Great Lakes Naval Training Base and other smaller military installations. They serve Veterans and also active-duty personnel and their families. It is a one stop shop where everything that is donated will be free to a person or family that may be in need. Remember Veterans Day is one day a year. However, we collect all year. Look for the Veteran boxes at each shop location.
